Exploration No. 302 is a little ode to old televisions. In addition, this article contains a small appeal.
It wasn’t so long ago that I took the step of adding new content to this website. I did so after deciding to embark on another project, Artigenda. That website features several articles that I previously published through this one. Now I am publishing very different articles through this website. They are about the Explorations. The Explorations. So is this one, Exploration No. 302—an ode to distracting appliances like old televisions.
Shadow play
Who does not remember those moments of serene calm when you turned off the sound and did not look directly at the picture? So when there was no image to be seen, only noise. A shadow play of light and dark on the ceiling offered an unprecedented, almost hypnotic calm.
Unless, of course, you never experienced the era of analogue television. There is that chance, of course. Then imagine another moment, where something is visible of a shadow play. Unintentional, for example, due to a glitch.
Ko-Fi
Of course, this is not the last Exploration. There are bound to be more to come. To continue these and other projects, I ask for your support. By donating via the Ko-Fi button on the website, you help invest. In doing so, you help, for example, by enabling options for a Nex Pro subscription through SoundCloud. YouTube is nice, only SoundCloud and thus Spotify is a bit more serious. Then you don’t have to watch, you can just listen. This subscription requires an investment of 85 euros per year. With this subscription, I can continue to spread my Explorations and invest further in explorations when it comes to hardware to make those Explorations possible.
So, if you have enjoyed my previous work and would like to help enable more innovative projects, please consider contributing.
