Every year, June 22 is Demiboy Pride Day. A day to create awareness for demiboys, demoguys, demimen and demimales.
Demiboy
If a person is partly boy/man but does not wish to be referred to entirely as boy/man or does not identify as such, the person is a demiboy. Other synonyms are demiguy, demiman, demimale. These synonyms are less stigmatising than the term boy or boy.
Demiboy is a subcategory of demigender. This category belongs within the non-binary spectrum.
Acceptance and understanding
The day is there for the demiboy so that one can proudly share one’s identity with the rest of the world. A world where acceptance and understanding in this regard sometimes lags far behind. There’s much to change there. A day like today can change that.
