Introduction
The responsibility of managing a website or webshop requires an investment. This is not just about finances. Also consider time. Maintenance and adjustments simply take time. Sometimes even more than you might have had in mind beforehand. Sometimes these are nasty surprises.
On this page, you can read more about the options I can offer you for full or partial management of your website or webshop. You are still the director or director, because you decide what needs to be done. In short, whether it is full management or not is something you decide for yourself.

About the services
Er wordt onderscheid gemaakt in technisch en inhoudelijk beheer. Dit neemt niet weg dat het ook mogelijk is om ondersteuning te vragen voor beiden (combinatiepakket).
Content management – functional management
Content or functional management assumes management exclusive of technical issues. Thus, no technical monitoring needs to take place and any technical disruptions are resolved by others/third parties.
Technical support – technical management
Technical management assumes that no substantive changes need to take place. These are left to others. Only technical matters are carried out. Which exactly these are you can read in the section on technical management.
Decide how much you do
You read that right. You decide how much you do. It is not that you would lose all control thanks to this service(s). Clear agreements are made about what you still do or don’t do yourself. At any time, agreements can be adapted or adjusted. Flexibility plays a big role!
If you are not satisfied with the service as completed or defined, there is always the option to make adjustments.

Need more?
Of course, the question is whether this is enough. If you want to grow online, I would be happy to help you with that. For example, in finding a full-time staff member to help you carry out this work, when you think the work should be carried out permanently. If you have not found anyone in the meantime, I will be happy to help you.
Is this something for you?
Then the question is whether the service or services are right for you. In other words, is this something for you?
If you do not have the technical knowledge to manage a website or webshop, if you do not have enough time or if you do not feel like it at all (the latter is also possible), then the services are certainly suitable. You may also want to make sure that things get done and that you have a fixed point of contact for problems. A point of contact who you can simply contact by phone. Instead of a web form. That said, contact via other options is also possible.
When you do have the knowledge, enough time and do feel like it, it can still make sense. It is sometimes good to hand something over. So that you have time to focus on what your focus should be on.
Functional management
Functional management is something you think about when it comes to the IT infrastructure of a company, organisation or institution. It is the opposite of technical management. If you search for the term functional management via Google, for example, you are likely to come across a lot of information about the manageability of IT systems that has little to do with websites.
Think of functional management as the soft side of IT. It is not about the technical stuff. Think about texts, and images when it comes to websites or web shops that need to be published or adapted. It is also about the way the website or webshop is set up. The information provision and the way you want to offer the information play an important role. Central to this is the end user or visitor.
Put yourself in the role of that end user or that visitor. This is sometimes tricky and even difficult. I am happy to help you with this. Thanks to years of experience in this field, it is possible to take on not only an advisory role. An executive role is also among the possibilities. This means that the information is offered in such a way that it will actually help to spread your message and thus achieve your end goal.

My experience
I have been self-employed since 2010. In that year, I registered with the Chamber of Commerce as an independent photographer. I later expanded my work to include website development, web copywriting and IT consulting.
In the period between 2009 and 2013, I was employed by a university hospital in the west of the Netherlands as a senior functional manager. From 2010, I combined my salaried work with my self-employment.

You decide!
The options are up to you! Do you transfer the management completely or do you still do part of the functional management yourself? By the way, a combination with technical management is also simply possible.
You decide everything. Not only do you decide how much you do yourself, you can also decide what you still do and what you don’t do. Do you want to stop worrying about it altogether? Then opt for a complete transfer of functional management. Needless to say, you stay up to date on everything.
So, you decide!

Combining functional management
Functional management can be combined with technical management.
Technical management
Technical management goes beyond simply managing servers. Indeed, when you think about that, it is actually not quite correct. What matters is that the website or webshop is actually available as much as possible.
Technical management is about supporting so that the functional management of a website or webshop can take place. Think about backups, creating e-mail addresses and making sure security requirements are in place. These are all things you also need to consider when it comes to managing your website or your webshop. This too takes time.
The question is whether you have time for this. Besides, do you have the right knowledge? This need not be a problem, as long as no problems arise. If they do, are you able to solve everything yourself?

No worries, right?
None of it has to be a problem, as long as it works well. A household appliance that works well also poses no problem. It is only when it breaks down that a challenge arises. Is it a household appliance that you need every day, then you have a big problem. Are you able to fix it yourself or not?
Whereas in most cases you choose to replace the household appliance, in the case of a website or webshop this is a bit more difficult. You don’t switch to another hosting provider. Nor is that necessary. Nor do you choose to have a completely new website developed unless there is no other way. You ask for advice on that first. Coincidentally, I can also help you with that.
Don’t worry, because the technical problem has to be solved and the question is: are you capable of doing it yourself? Do you have both the knowledge and the time? Isn’t it better to leave this to an expert who is there for you? That expert is me.

Posibilities technical management
Just as this is the case for functional management, for technical management you decide what needs to be done. Want to leave everything completely to me when it comes to technical details? No problem! I am happy to take over that worry.
Is the intention to focus mainly on technical support and assist with content where necessary? No problem either.
Let’s see what the options are. You may be satisfied with just technical support. Maybe even more than that.
